TITLE: "Prairie Skyscraper"
The simple beauty of this grain elevator is a lovely compliment to the deep blue sky on a summer day. Grain elevators are quite often the tallest structures on the farmlands of rural America, and for this reason, they are often easy to spot while out scouting the backroads of small towns. This one, painted a bright white, stands out brightly against the natural colors of the landscape, as well as the deep blue of an afternoon sky in the summer. I love their simplicity and primitive appearance. Even though they are not ornamental, they are built to last, usually by hand by local builders, so they are an homage to old world craftsmanship.
